Two shorter works for this concert.  Kodaly's Missa Brevis was new to many in the choir and audience;
it was written in the cellar of the Budapest Opera House at the end of the World War II.

Summer 2024
saw a change from our usual summer programme - on 7th July 2024, we performed a short afternoon concert of Opera Choruses as part of Llandaff Cathedral Festival 2024 accompanied by Capital Youth Band.  The works sung included choruses from Gluck's Orpheus and Euridice, Verdi's Macbeth, Il Trovatore, Aida  and La Traviata, Bizet's Carmen  and Gounod's Faust.

Our Spring 2024 concert was in Llandaff Cathedral on 16th March and was  very special.  The concert  featured the World premiere of the cantata "Time" by local composer Iain James Veitch.  "Time" was preceded by a superb performance of Mozart Piano Concerto No. 25 played by Ariel Lanyi - who was one of the runners up in the 2023 Leeds International Piano Competition.   A thrilling and memorable evening!

In December 2023,  our  festive Christmas Carol service was held in Llandaff Cathedral in the week before Christmas.  Carols were sung by members of LCCS and pupils of Ysgol Y Wern primary school.  We were accompanied by Stephen Moore and Ben Heneghan and the Capital Youth Concert Band.

Autumn 2023 - our first concert after the appointment of Simon Lovell-Jones as our new Director of Music.

Summer 2023 - a lovely concert of music by Americal composers, finishing with Bernstein's Chichester Psalms.

March 2023:  Brahms Ein Deutches Requiem - our last concert with Alex Thacker as our Director of Music.

Christmas Carol Festival 2022, accompanied by John Cheer and the Capital Youth Concert Band

Summer 2022 - the thrilling World Premiere of "Spiral Round the Sun" by local composer Ben Heneghan,  preceded by Durufle Requiem.  Both works were conducted by our Director of Music Alex Thacker.

Our Spring 2022 concert programme was chosen to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Our last overseas trip - 2019 - when LCCS sang  Mendelssohn's Elijah in the Berlin Philharmonie in a joint choir with Cardiff Polyphonic Choir and Cardiff Ardwyn singers.
